This is Ukraine today – September 26

Maidan Community Sector, Lviv: Dear friends!

War, not the expected peace arrived at the doorstep of Great Britain and France when they gave up Czechoslovakia to Hitler in 1938. War is happening right here at home and not in faraway Europe – the United States were harshly reminded about this at Pearl Harbor in 1942. War descended on Ukraine and thus is now much closer to Paris and Berlin, because Europe and the US haven’t supported Georgia in 2008. War showed up in the homes of Dutch, British, French, German, Australian families because Europe and the US weren’t courageous enough to lend a helping hand to Ukraine in 2014. It is impossible to run away from war and overwhelming aggression, it is impossible to buy yourself off. The war will catch up with you if you don’t stand up to it with utmost determination.

September 26 – 3 mass burial places were found in Slaviansk after it was liberated from the Russian terrorists, – said NSDC spokesman Andriy Lysenko. According to preliminary information, the people have died in the early and mid-June, when Slaviansk was controlled by the terrorists.

September 26 – Fitch: Russian Federation will lose 15% of its gold reserves as a result of sanctions.

September 26 – After artillery shelling by Russian terrorists, Donetsk airport was set on fire (it is controlled by Ukrainian troops). Ukrainian troops were able to repel the strongest attack yet.

September 26 – In case EU member-states continue to support reverse gas supply to Ukraine, Russian Federation will cease its gas supply to Europe, – said Russian Energy Minister Alexandr Novak. Blackmail was successful. In the evening of September 25th, Hungarian gas operator FGSZ has stopped reverse gas supply to Ukraine without notice. This decision was made by the Hungarian authorities after the meeting held by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban with Gazprom Chairman Alexey Miller on Monday, September 22nd, 2014. However this decision contradicts the principles of EU’s free market. All countries should be able to purchase gas freely – both EU member-states and those outside the European Union, – stated European Commission representative Helen Kearns.
