This is Ukraine today – June 28

Maidan Community Sector, Lviv: Dear friends!

By annexing Crimea, Russia has carried out an act of aggression against Ukraine. Currently Russia is transferring terrorist and sabotage groups to Eastern Ukraine. Russia aims to prevent legitimate presidential elections from happening. Everyday life in Eastern Ukraine has turned into a continuous nightmare in the middle of Europe. Our country is being destroyed right before our eyes. We therefore take the courage to inform you about current events in Ukraine. This is just another point of view. We will do our best to remain objective.

June 28 – “Donbas” – the battalion of volunteers on special assignment – has appealed to the people of Ukraine for support and asked to stop the senseless ceasefire. “All of us held our breath and restrained ourselves while watching our fellow countryman die during the ceasefire. With dignity we have passed this test. We cannot wait any longer”.

June 28 – US State Department doesn’t believe that the data about the number of refugees leaving Ukraine for Russia provided by the UN is correct (the data was made public on Friday, June 27th). According to this data, the number of Ukrainian refugees in Russia has reached 110 thousand persons.

June 28 – Terrorists have been continuously firing at ATO positions near Sloviansk. Also six tanks, an armored personnel carrier and antiaircraft weapons have been spotted moving away from the Russian border (into Ukraine).

June 28 – In spite of the prolongation of the ceasefire by official Kyiv, the tension in Ukraine hasn’t subsided, informed Germany’s Foreign Minister Frank Walter Steinmeier.

June 28 – Russian Federation is training the terrorists and is sending them to Ukraine – Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has provided significant proof to this effect. SSU believes that Russia must close down its recruitment centers and training camps for mercenaries, as well as stop recruiting the citizens of Ukraine and remove its subversive and reconnaissance groups, which were previously sent to Ukraine.
