General Staff operational report June 7, 2023 on the Russian invasion of Ukraine

The 469th day of the Russia-Ukraine War: official operational information by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on 07.06.2023.

Russian troops’ attacks on the civilian infrastructure in Ukraine

The Russian Federation continues to wage its war of aggression disregarding the losses. In order to achieve its goals, Russia continues to use terror tactics, launches strikes and shells civilian targets, including residential areas.

Recently, Russian soldiers launched 35x missile strikes using Kh-101/Kh-555 air-launched cruise missiles. All the missiles were intercepted by the air defense forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Russia also launched 41x air strikes and 57x MLRS attacks. Unfortunately, the attacks have killed and wounded civilians. Also, apartment buildings, private houses, and other civilian infrastructure have been damaged.

The possibility of missile and air strikes across Ukraine remains high.

In addition, the Russian army committed another war crime – in order to prevent the advance of Ukrainian troops, they blew up the internal structures of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant. This terrorist act caused flooding of about 80x settlements.

The Russian Federation continues to focus its main efforts on attempts to fully occupy Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts in Ukraine. There were more than 30x combat engagements during the day.
