The 487th day of the Russia-Ukraine War: official operational information by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on 25.06.2023.

Russian army’s attacks on civilian infrastructure

The Russian Federation continues to kill the civilian population of Ukraine, disregarding laws and customs of war, employing terrorist tactics, striking both military and civilian targets.

Last night, the Russian army used 6 guided missiles from the S-300 system against civilian objects in the Zaporizhzhia region. Additionally, within a 24-hour period, it carried out 25 aerial strikes and conducted over 30 shelling attacks with multiple rocket launch systems on Ukrainian troops’ positions and populated areas.

The likelihood of missile and aerial strikes throughout the territory of Ukraine remains high.

The Russian army continues to concentrate its main efforts on the Lyman, Bakhmut, and Marinka directions, with over 20 combat clashes occurring within a day.

Operational situation on Ukrainian directions

  • Volyn and Polissia directions: the operational situation remains unchanged, with no significant changes observed. There are no signs of Russian forming offensive groupings.
  • Siversk and Slobozhansk directions: the Russian army maintains a military presence and continues to carry out sabotage and reconnaissance activities in the border areas with Ukraine. Yesterday, in the vicinity of the settlement of Rodionivka in the Sumy region, Russian troops made an unsuccessful attempt to infiltrate through the state border of Ukraine with a sabotage and reconnaissance group, suffered losses, and retreated. They conducted mortar and artillery shelling of the populated areas of Hremiachka, Tymonovychi in the Chernihiv region, and Khodyne, Malushyne, Kozache, Vorozhba, Iskryskivshchyna, Pavlivka, and Katerinivka in the Sumy region, as well as Udy, Veternarne, Hraniv, Kozacha Lopan, Krasne, Starycia, Ohirtseve, Hatyshche, Vovchansk, Bochkove, Okhrimivka, Mykolaivka, Nesterne, Budarky, Kruhle, Zemlianky, Vilkhuvatka, Chuhunivka, Hryhorivka, Odradne in the Kharkiv region.
  • Kupiansk direction: Russian soldiers  subjected Kolodyazne, Krasne Pershe, Fiholivka, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Masiutivka, Kyslivka, and Berestove in the Kharkiv region to artillery and mortar shelling.
  • Lyman direction: the Russian army carried out unsuccessful offensive actions towards Rozdolivka. Artillery shelling affected Nevske and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, as well as Torske, Serebrianka, Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, and Rozdolivka in the Donetsk region.
  • Bakhmut direction: Russian soldiers conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the areas of Hryhorivka and Minkivka in the Donetsk region. They carried out an airstrike near Sukha Balka in the Donetsk region. Vasiukivka, Minkivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bohdanivka, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Ozarianivka, and New York in the Donetsk region were affected by Russian artillery shelling.
  • Avdiivka direction: Russian troops carried out an airstrike in the area of Avdiivka. They conducted artillery shelling of the areas near the settlements of Berdychiv, Avdiivka, Vodyane, Karlivka, and Pervomaiske.
  • Marinka direction: the Russian army conducted offensive actions in the area of Marinka but was not successful. It carried out an airstrike near Krasnohorivka. At the same time, Russian military conducted artillery shelling of the populated areas of Hostre, Heorhiivka, and Marinka in the Donetsk region.
  • Shakhtarsk direction: Russian soldiers carried out airstrikes in the areas of Prechystivka and Blahodatne. They shelled the populated areas of Paraskevivka, Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar, Storozhove, Makarivka, Novosilka, and Novopil in the Donetsk region.
  • Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions: the Russian army concentrates its main efforts on preventing the advancement of Ukrainian troops. It unsuccessfully attempted to regain lost positions in the area of Novodarivka in the Zaporizhzhia region. It conducted artillery shelling of around 30 populated areas, including Temirivka, Novodarivka, Levadne, Olhivske, Malynivka, Zelenyi Hai, Zatyshshia, Huliaipole in the Zaporizhzhia region; Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk region; Mylove, Berislav, Kozatske, Lvove, Mykilske, Antonivka, Zelenivka, Kherson, Dniprovskyi in the Kherson region, and Ochakiv in the Mykolaiv region.

Ukrainian aviation and artillery response

The aviation of the Ukrainian army carried out 6 strikes on Russian personnel concentration areas within the past day. Additionally, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed a reconnaissance UAV of the operational-tactical level.

Units of missile troops and artillery hit a command post, 3 areas with Russian personnel and military equipment concentration, an ammunition depot, an electronic warfare station, and 3 Russian artillery units in firing positions throughout the day.
