Russia shelled Ukraine’s capital Kyiv on the eve of the New Year, there are casualties: photos, video

The mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klychko noted on December 31, 2022, that explosions were heard in three regions of Kyiv. According to preliminary information, 1 civilian was killed and 8 were injured.

“There are explosions in Kyiv! Be in shelters! One of the explosions rang out between residential buildings in the Solomianskyi District of the capital. All services are on the spot. Details will come later,” noted the mayor of Kyiv.

Later, Vitaliy Klychko added that there were also explosions in the Pecherskyi and Holosiivskyi districts of Kyiv.

“There is destruction. Rescuers and medics are on the way,” said Vitaliy Klychko.

 

The mayor of Kyiv reported about 1 killed civilian in the Solomianskyi District of Kyiv, and 8 were injured.

“Among the wounded in Kyiv is a journalist from Japan, he is being hospitalized. A total of 8 people have already been injured,” said Vitaliy Klychko.

The Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Tymoshenko also added that the hotel was damaged in Kyiv due to Russian missile attack. He also noted that debris of the rocket fell into a private house in the Solomianskyi District of the capital.

“There is destruction, the hotel object was damaged,” wrote Kyrylo Tymoshenko.

Russian troops also damaged the National Palace of Arts “Ukraina” (Ukraine), one of the main theatre venues for official events in Kyiv, by their shelling.

In addition, the Kyiv Regional Military Administration informed that the air defense forces of Ukraine repulsed a Russian missile attack in the Kyiv region.
