Journalist from Japan was injured during Russian missile attack on Kyiv: photos, video

The mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klychko noted that a journalist from Japan was injured in the Pecherskyi District during the Russian missile attack on Ukraine’s capital Kyiv on December 31, 2022. He was hospitalized.

“During the attack on Kyiv, a journalist from Japan was injured in the Pecherskyi District. Doctors hospitalize him. In total, 8 victims have already been injured,” said the mayor of Kyiv.

Later, Vitaliy Klychko reported about 11 injured civilians as a result of the Russian attack on Kyiv.

“11 victims of the Russian attack on Kyiv have already been hospitalized in the capital’s medical facilities,” wrote the mayor of Kyiv.

It is noted that during the shelling, the Japanese journalist was in the hotel that was hit by the rocket.

In addition, an Adviser of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Anton Herashchenko, said that the name of the injured Japanese journalist is Wataru Sekita. He works for the Asahi Shimbun publication (one of the four largest newspapers in Japan).
