Denys Shmyhal will hold a bilateral meeting with Justin Trudeau in Toronto. Canadian Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland, Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly and Defense Minister Anita Anand will join the meeting.

“Friendly Canada. A country among the first to stand by Ukraine. Meetings with Justin Trudeau and Chrystia Freeland coming up. We are preparing new agreements and deals to strengthen the macro-financial and economic stability of Ukraine. We are working for victory,” tweeted the Ukrainian Prime Minister.

Last week, in an interview with the Canadian publication Globe & Mail, Denys Shmyhal said that he plans to visit Canada but for reasons of security, he did not name the exact date. According to him, he will hold negotiations in Canada regarding the supply of ammunition and heavy equipment.

This visit to Canada will be the first for Denys Shmyhal since his appointment as head of government. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy last visited Canada in July 2019.
