Ukrainian Foreign Minister will be present at the UN General Assembly in the USA

On September 19, 2022, it became known, that Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba will meet with foreign ministers of countries in Africa, the Middle East, the Caribbean, Latin America and Europe. He will also talk with experts of the Council of International Relations.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine will go to the USA. He will take part in the general debate of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly.

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy defined three priorities for the Ukrainian delegation:

  • holding Russia to international responsibility for its crimes;
  • strengthening the international coalition in support of Ukraine, in particular, increasing the supply of weapons and financial aid;
  • intensification of relations with the countries of the Global South.

Dmytro Kuleba has scheduled meetings with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, as well as with heads of foreign affairs in the Ukraine-Poland-Britain format. In addition, attention will be paid to recommendations on security guarantees of Ukraine.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, will be able to address the UN General Assembly via video. The speech is scheduled for September 21. The Russian ambassador to the UN opposed Zelenskyy’s speech. In addition to Russia, only Belarus, Cuba, Eritrea, Nicaragua, Syria, and North Korea voted against it.
