During the press conference with two leaders, Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine needs Western weapons to end the war started by the Russian Federation. Help from partners and allies is needed right now.

“The sooner Ukraine receives long-range weapons, the sooner our pilots receive modern aircraft, the stronger our tank coalition is, the sooner Russian aggression will end and we will return a steadfast peace to Europe,” emphasized the President of Ukraine.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy pointed out that France and Germany have the potential to be a “game changers”. According to him, this is what the current negotiations on military aid should look like.

“An effective continental alliance in Europe is needed by all Europeans. Putting an end to Russian aggression as soon as possible is the most rational thing to do,” added the President of Ukraine.

The President of France said that Ukraine could rely on France and its partners.

“We stand by Ukraine, France is determined to help it to victory. Ukraine can count on France and its allies to win the war, Russia should not and will not win the war,” clarified Emmanuel Macron.

According to the French President, France will continue to provide Ukraine with weapons.

At the same time, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz says Germany will also provide military assistance to Ukraine “as long as it needs.”

“Russia should not win this war,” added Olaf Scholz.
