Ukraine’s President discussed with UK National Security Adviser strengthening of defense support

The Office of the President of Ukraine informed on April 27, 2023, that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Timothy Barrow, National Security Adviser of Great Britain. They discussed the issue of further provision of defense assistance to Ukraine.

In particular, Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of transferring Western-style military aircraft to Ukraine, as well as various types of weapons necessary to confront the Russian aggressor. He called on Great Britain to take the lead in forming an air coalition for Ukraine.

“The parties also discussed preparations for the NATO Summit, which will be held in Vilnius this summer. Ukraine’s President noted that Ukraine expects specific decisions from the summit that will bring the end of the war closer and strengthen the security of Europe,” reported the Office of the President of Ukraine.

In this context, the President also informed the UK National Security Adviser about the work on creating effective security guarantees for Ukraine, while Ukraine is on the way to becoming a member of the Alliance.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted the leadership position of Great Britain regarding the defense support of Ukraine.
