Ukraine managed to return 2,105 people from Russian captivity

The Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets reported on April 10, 2023, that Ukraine was able to return 2,105 citizens from Russian captivity.

“[This number is – ed.] 2,105 people, including today’s exchange,” noted the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights.

Dmytro Lubinets confirmed that the Ukrainian authorities have approximate data on how many Ukrainian citizens are in captivity of the Russian Federation but this number is not publicly noted.

Earlier, the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak said that Ukraine managed to conduct another large exchange of prisoners of war.

“We are returning home 100 Ukrainians, they are soldiers, sailors, border guards, national guardsmen. Among them are the defenders of Mariupol, Azovstal Iron and Steel Works, Hostomel [the Kyiv region – ed.]. Some people were seriously injured, have diseases. We will do everything necessary so that each of them receives all the necessary help. The task of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi is to return all Ukrainian citizens from Russian captivity,” added the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
