More than 1,000 employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine are in Russian captivity

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko noted on March 2, 2023, that currently, more than a thousand employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine remain in captivity of the Russian Federation.

“Quite a lot. I can say that more than a thousand people,” said Ihor Klymenko, answering the question of how many people from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine remain in Russian captivity.

According to the head of the department, the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who fall into Russian captivity, gradually return home thanks to exchanges.

“The headquarters created under the Main Directorate of Intelligence work every day, around the clock, and does everything possible to ensure that there are as many such exchanges as possible. It is the duty of all of us to ensure that every Ukrainian who was captured by Russians returns to his family,” reported the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

Ihor Klymenko confirmed that he and other representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs meet with those returning from Russian captivity to help provide them with medical assistance.
