The Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar emphasizes that Ukraine is waging a defensive war and will not invade the territory of the Russian Federation.

“Our task is to liberate our territories, we are not the aggressors, not invaders. We are waging a defensive war, within the framework of which there may be offensive actions,” the Deputy Minister said.

As an example, she cited the operation to liberate the Kharkiv region in the east of Ukraine. According to Hanna Malyar, this is a unique operation, as Ukraine has always prepared for defensive actions and was not going to attack anyone.

“Our doctrine is that we are waging a defensive war, so we will not invade foreign territories. We are returning ours.”

The Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine also emphasized that Ukraine does not violate international norms and rules of warfare.
