The article in Forbes Ukraine on August 24, 2022, states that Russians lost 12,142 pieces of equipment worth 16.56 billion dollars, not including missiles, the largest loss of the occupiers was the cruiser “Moskva” during the six months of the full-scale war against Ukraine.
The biggest loss of the occupiers was the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet, the missile cruiser “Moskva” worth 750 million dollars, which was sunk by Ukrainian missiles “Neptune” in mid-April. The second most expensive loss of Russians was a large Il-76 amphibious aircraft worth 86 million dollars, which was shot down by air defense forces at the end of February in the sky over Vasylkov, Kyiv region.
The third most expensive was the large amphibious assault ship “Saratov” for $75 million. The Ukrainian army struck the ship while it was in the port of occupied Berdyansk (south of Ukraine), where it was delivering military equipment.
In addition to the “Moscow” on Zmiinyi (Snake) Island and the surrounding waters, Ukraine destroyed Russian equipment and ships worth 165 million dollars. In particular, eight anti-aircraft complexes of the “Tor”, “Pantsir” and “Strela” types are worth more than 100 million dollars.
Over six months, Ukrainian forces sank 15 Russian ships worth 82 million dollars.
The destruction of Russian aircraft is also ongoing. In total, Russia lost 234 aircraft worth 5.3 billion dollars – this became the heaviest part (32.1%) in the total losses of the Russian army.
