According to a government statement, Liz Truss, Britain’s Prime Minister, will announce this week during a visit to the United Nations in New York that leaders “must put an end to Putin’s economic blackmail by removing all energy dependence on Russia.”

“Liz Truss will use her visit to New York this week to solidify the U.K.’s commitment to Ukraine’s security and territorial integrity, with the announcement that the UK will match or exceed our record 2022 military support to Ukraine next year.”

According to the UK’s government, Ukraine’s gains in conflict over the past few weeks amount to “a significant moment of war” and this success is proof of what the Ukrainian people are capable of with the support of other democracies.

In addition, Liz Truss noted that Great Britain next year would allocate the same amount for military aid to Ukraine as it does today (about 2.3 billion), or even more.
