The energy ministers of the most industrialized countries of the Group of Seven reject the Kremlin’s demands that “unfriendly” countries have to pay in rubles for Russian gas.

“All G-7 ministers agreed completely that this is a one-sided and clear breach of the existing contracts.”

Habeck said that “agreements are valid and companies must respect them, payment in rubles is not acceptable and we will urge the companies affected not to follow the Russian President Vladimir Putin’s demand.”

“Putin’s attempt to divide us is obvious, but, as you can see from this great unity and determination, we will not be divided,” he added.

UaPosition memo: The G7 includes such countries as the United States, Japan, Germany, Britain, France, Italy, and Canada.
