Russian troops are turning the captured Ukrainian territories into an exclusion zone

Russian soldiers are destroying the health care system in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, taking doctors and medical equipment to Russia, and closing hospitals. The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said about this in an evening address on October 28, 2022.

“Russian troops added another challenge in the occupied territories of Ukraine. They are dismantling the entire existing health care system there. Russian soldiers decided to close medical institutions in the cities, to take away all the equipment and ambulances. Doctors are being pressured to move to the territory of Russia,” the President said.

The influence of Russian troops is especially noticeable in the Kherson region (south of Ukraine), which they are turning into an “exclusion zone”.

“Russia is turning the Kherson region into a zone without civilization, without elementary things that are available in most countries of the world. Before the arrival of Russia, this region, like all other regions of Ukraine, was quite normal and safe, all social services for people were guaranteed there. Life was guaranteed there. And now Russia is trying to make Kherson Oblast an exclusion zone,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy added.

The President of Ukraine called on the world to respond to Russia’s crimes. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and all representatives of Ukraine inform international organizations and partners about this new escalating step of Russian troops.
