Russian rocket attacks destroyed almost all electrical substations in the western region of Ukraine

The mayor of Lviv Andriy Sadovyi informed on February 14, 2023, that Russians destroyed almost all the electrical substations of the Lviv region (the largest city in the west of Ukraine) during the missile attacks, and most of these facilities cannot be restored – they need to be built from the scratch.

“We have destroyed almost all the electrical substations within Lviv and the region. Therefore, an electricity supply is a big problem, but our electricians find non-standard and clever solutions, so the industry and these institutions, which are supposed to provide the city with electricity, are working,” explained the mayor of Lviv.

According to Andriy Sadovyi, there are quite a lot of other types of destruction in Lviv, for example, the objects of other critical infrastructure, etc.

“Also, a private car repair station was completely destroyed by Russian attack. This was tragic because many civilians died there. The station was completely destroyed. Of course, we helped it recover, so it started working again,” added the head of the city.

During the latest Russian missile attack on February 10, 2023, air defense forces shot down 9 missiles over the Lviv region. However, there were hits on the object of critical energy infrastructure.
