“In total, since the beginning of the war, the Russian Federation has carried out almost 5,000 missile strikes, almost 3,500 airstrikes and almost 1,100 drone strikes. Without any military sense, Russian troops continue to implement a strategy of senseless destruction, turning entire Ukrainian cities into ruins and killing innocent civilians,” emphasized the First Secretary of the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the International Organizations in Vienna.

Danylo Kubai added that the consequences of these barbaric actions of the Russian Federation are obvious: the number of victims among the civilian population of Ukraine is increasing every day. He reminded that according to the recently updated estimates of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, 8,231 civilians have been killed and 13,734 injured since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.

“Even with a numerical advantage in manpower, artillery and aviation, Russian soldiers cannot achieve their goals and continue to suffer significant losses in men and weapons. Just last week, the Russian army lost 1,100 killed and at least 1,500 wounded in the Bakhmut area [Donetsk region – ed.],” said Danylo Kubai.
