“There were about 300 strikes on the energy system of Ukraine by Russian missiles, artillery and drones from last Monday [October 10 – ed.] until today. Of course, we are preparing for possible dramatic damage to the power system, which will require much more time to restore,” the Minister of Energy of Ukraine said.

He also noted that Ukrainians were persistently asked to reduce electricity consumption.

“There is a drop in consumption, and when it is not enough, we have to introduce forced restrictions. Therefore, people must save as much electricity as possible. We would like electricity savings to be at the level of 20%. This would critically help our energy system,” Herman Galushchenko emphasized.

The situation with electricity supply in Ukraine’s critical infrastructure enterprises remains difficult after massive Russian attacks.
