“In Borodyanka and Irpen, I saw firsthand the devastation brought to Ukraine by Russian soldiers. Hundreds of kilometres to the east and south, thousands of other civilians in Ukraine – women, men, children – are still facing the same devastation. I believe that when this nightmare is over, Ukraine will flourish again. How flowers bloomed today among the destroyed houses in Borodyanka or Irpen.”

Chaputova also met with the President of Ukraine and addressed the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

“Slovakia will take care of women and children from Ukraine who were forced to leave their homes; Slovakia is helping and will continue to help us with weapons: it has already supplied S-300 air defense system, and soon there will be Zuzana howitzers; Slovakia supports Ukraine’s accession to the EU as soon as possible,” said the member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
