Lithuania will hand over 36 anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine to destroy Iranian drones

The Minister of Defense of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis noted on February 9, 2023, during the joint briefing with the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov, that Ukraine will receive 36 new anti-aircraft missile systems to destroy Iranian-made kamikaze drones.

“Within the framework of this visit, we with the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksiy Reznikov, discussed further assistance to the Armed Forces, in particular, arming and military training. Lithuania will continue to provide all possible assistance for the victory of Ukraine. We are handing over 36 anti-aircraft missile systems that can successfully fight drones,” emphasized the Minister of Defense of Lithuania.

Gabrielius Landsbergis also noted that Latvia trained 15 Ukrainian instructors. Now they can work with new anti-aircraft systems.

In turn, Oleksiy Reznikov emphasized that the training of instructors is a modernization of the training of the Ukrainian military.

“This makes it possible for our Ukrainian instructors to further train a larger number of crews in working with new weapons,” informed the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
