European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will invest up to €3B in Ukraine

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will invest about 3 billion euros in Ukraine within two years in 2022-2023. This was announced by EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso after a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Ukraine’s capital Kyiv on October 21, 2022.

According to the President of the EBRD, investments will amount to 1 billion euros this year.

“I’ve been meeting President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv to express our solidarity and admiration for the courage and resilience of the Ukrainians. With well over €1 billion in investment this year, the EBRD is financing Ukraine’s real economy in the face of Russia’s aggression,” wrote Odile Renaud-Basso on Twitter.

The President of the EBRD also noted that according to the results of 2022-2023, investments would amount to 3 billion euros and would be spent, among other things, on infrastructure reconstruction.

“I told the President of Ukraine that our commitment is for the long term and we will invest up to €3 billion in 2022-2023 to support the economy, the private sector and the urgent reconstruction of vital infrastructure,” concluded the EBRD President.
