EU will launch a humanitarian demining program for Ukraine worth €25M

The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal noted on February 2, 2023, that the European Union would launch a humanitarian program for demining of Ukraine worth 25 million euros. This agreement was reached during the meeting with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell in Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv.

“We have an agreement that the EU will launch a humanitarian demining program worth 25 million euros. This is an important component of our recovery, which will make it possible to return to normal life in communities liberated from Russian troops,” said the Prime Minister of Ukraine.

In addition, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy noted that the European Union will expand the training mission for the Ukrainian military.

“Russia brought war back to Europe, but Ukraine keeps fighting back. Glad to announce to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal that the EU Military Assistance Mission will train additional 15.000 Ukrainian soldiers, taking the total number of EUMAM trained personnel to 30.000,” tweeted Josep Borrell.
