Denmark will train the Ukrainian military on its territory

Ukraine accepted Denmark’s offer to train Ukrainian servicemen on Danish territory. On September 13, 2022, it became known, that the Minister of Defense of Denmark proposed this as a sign of support to the Ukrainian army against the Russian invasion.

“There will be training in Denmark. I cannot give more details, but the Ukrainian army will be trained in Denmark,” Defense Minister Morten Bodskov told during a visit to Kyiv.

In August, it became known that Denmark will send 130 instructors to Great Britain in the fall to train Ukrainian soldiers.

The Minister of Defense of Denmark made it clear that he had suggested to Ukraine that soldiers could be trained in Denmark. However, the minister didn’t rule out the possibility that the military might arrive in Denmark before the end of the year.

“Denmark is one of the countries where training will take place, and there are other European countries that have also started training.”

The minister added that Denmark had many years of experience in preparing the Ukrainian defense. For example, as it was in Ukraine from 2015 until the Russian invasion on February 24, 2022.
