“Sea King from the UK has arrived in its new kingdom near the Black Sea in Ukraine! It is a strong reinforcement for the Ukrainian Navy
Oleksiy Reznikov thanked British Defence Minister Ben Wallace for the assistance, noting that “together we will secure the seas and lands across all of Europe.”
The head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine did not specify how many British helicopters had arrived in Ukraine.
British Defense Minister Ben Wallace announced the transfer of three Sea King helicopters to Ukraine in November 2022. In total, Great Britain trained 10 crews of Ukrainian pilots during six weeks, increasing their search and rescue capabilities.
The Ukrainian side reported that it would use new helicopters for search and rescue missions. They can also be used to counter submarines.
