About 9,000 Ukrainian soldiers will undergo training in Germany this year

The Ministry of Defense of Germany noted on March 8, 2023, on Twitter, that by the end of the year, a total of 9,000 Ukrainian servicemen will undergo military training on the territory of Germany.

In addition, the Minister of Defense of Germany Boris Pistorius announced that 18 Leopard 2 tanks will be delivered to Ukraine later this month.

“Defense Minister Boris Pistorius also announced the delivery of the 18 German Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine later this month and the training of up to 9000 Ukrainian soldiers by the end of the year,” tweeted the Ministry of Defense of Germany.

It is also noted that during an informal meeting in Stockholm, Boris Pistorius met with partners in the “tank coalition” – representatives of Portugal and Sweden.

According to German Defense Minister, tanks will arrive in the country with trained crews, and then they will be delivered to the front.

“I can tell you that I just found out that 18 German Leopard 2A6 tanks and 3 Portuguese tanks may arrive in Ukraine this month,” Boris Pistorius said on the sidelines of a meeting of EU defense ministers in Sweden.
