This is Ukraine today – September 27

Maidan Community Sector, Lviv: Dear friends!

War, not the expected peace arrived at the doorstep of Great Britain and France when they gave up Czechoslovakia to Hitler in 1938. War is happening right here at home and not in faraway Europe – the United States were harshly reminded about this at Pearl Harbor in 1942. War descended on Ukraine and thus is now much closer to Paris and Berlin, because Europe and the US haven’t supported Georgia in 2008. War showed up in the homes of Dutch, British, French, German, Australian families because Europe and the US weren’t courageous enough to lend a helping hand to Ukraine in 2014. It is impossible to run away from war and overwhelming aggression, it is impossible to buy yourself off. The war will catch up with you if you don’t stand up to it with utmost determination.

September 27 – Russia may resume gas supply to Ukraine in October if 2 billion USD are paid, – said Russia’s Minister for Energy Alexander Novak as a result of trilateral gas talks in Berlin. European Commissioner for Energy Günther Oettinger has mentioned that discussed are 5 billion cubic meters of gas at a cost of 385 USD per thousand cubic meters, prepaid.

September 27 – Under no circumstances Ukraine will withdraw its lawsuit with the Stockholm Arbitration Court regarding the price of gas supplied to Ukraine by Russia, – said Ukraine’s Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk. Ukraine believes that the price is not a fair market price, but an instrument of an aggressive Russian policy towards Ukraine.

September 27 – Russian terrorists are systematically destroying the infrastructure in Donbas. Currently greatest tensions are felt near Debaltsevo. Apparently, Russian terrorists are “preparing” Donbas for winter in order for it to cause a social explosion after the implementation of truce.

September 27 – A week ago Russian terrorists have shot 45 Ukrainian prisoners at the temporarily occupied territories of Luhansk oblast, – informs human rights activist and a founder of “Gruz 200” group Olena Vasilyeva.

September 27 – The terrorists continue to shell Donetsk airport, which, for several months, has been under control of the soldiers of the 93rd mechanized brigade and a special regiment. Ruined airport terminals and burned down equipment is all that is left of Donetsk airport.
