This is Ukraine today – November 23: 32 villages/cities have been left without electricity in Donetsk oblast

Maidan Community Sector, Lviv: Dear friends!

November 23 – 32 villages/cities have been left completely or partially without electricity as a result of fighting in Donetsk oblast.

November 23 – Ukraine is acting inappropriately by refusing to purchase Russian gas, – stated Russia’s Energy Minister Alexander Novak. Well of course, since Russia has no one to forcibly sell the amount of gas it previously sold to Ukraine (during Yanykovych’s regime). Thus Russia is trying as hard as it can to sell as much as possible gas to Ukraine even under current war conditions. But Ukraine refuses to buy. Finally, everything is clear. The buyer becomes more important than the seller. According to the Russians, Ukraine must have 18-20 billion cubic meters of gas in store to ensure an uninterrupted heating throughout winter. As of November 20th, 14.998 billion cubic meters of gas is available in Ukraine’s underground storages.

November 23 – Canada has offered few dozens of F-18 fighters, but Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense has refused to accept the aircraft. The reasons for refusal were high operational costs for such expensive equipment and a significant amount of time needed to retrain pilots. Ukrainians just don’t like learning, do they?

November 23 – 70 attack attempts by the terrorists using different types of mortar, artillery and other weapons at the ATO positions, were recorded in the last 24 hours.

November 23 – Russian First Czekh-Russian Bank, gave the ultra-right French Party, the National Front (NF), a loan of 9 million euro. This information was confirmed for Le Figaro newspaper by the treasurer of the Party, Valleran de Sen-Just. The intermediary for the agreement was a deputy of the Europarliament from the National Front (NF). Jean-Luc Shafhauser. As is known, Shafhauser, a deputy of Europarliament, member of the Council of the Defense of Europe, participated in unlawful and non-recognized by the world, “elections” of DNR on November 2nd as an international observer. According to Sen-Just, from the sum of the loan, the National Front has already received 2 million euro. Also the treasurer of the NF noted that the party has been looking for a long time for loans to finance election campaigns. “Our bank, as also most French and European banks, categorically declines to get involved in funding the National Front and its candidates. I do not think that this is directed against us. I think that this pertains to all political parties and all candidates.” Then Mr. Shafhauser, who has good ties with Russia, said: “Let’s try this bank,” related the NF secretary. At the same time, the Mediaport website announces “intense lobbying of managers of NF in Moscow” and a meeting in February 2014 of the leader of NF, Marine Le Pen with a Russian deputy.
