December 22 – Ukraine and Kazakhstan are renewing military and technical cooperation, stated President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko as a result of negotiations with the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.

December 22 – Trypillia thermal power plant (city of Ukrainka, Kyiv oblast) has stopped the operation of all electric power units, which are using steam coal, – informed Deputy Minister for Energy and Coal Industry Oleksandr Svetelik. In total, 30 electric power units were shut down in Ukraine. Fortunately, Kazakhstan will soon start supplying steam coal to Ukraine, according to President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.

December 22 – Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has approved a draft document on the reform of the ministry, which was developed by the volunteers, – informed one of the leaders of the volunteer movement Yuriy Biryukov in his Facebook account.

December 22 – Over 9 thousand Crimean Tatars have left Crimea, which was annexed by Russia, – said Mustafa Dzhemilev, Authorized Representative of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on Crimean Tatar People.

December 22 – Ukrainian radio – “Radio 24” is finally on air in Donetsk (frequency 103.1). The station is broadcasting to areas, free of terrorists.

December 22 – ATO press-center claims that 10 pro-Russian terrorists with weapons deserted from the village of Shyrokino, which is controlled by the militants.

December 22 – Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk has said that most of the funds available from the international financial assistance to Ukraine will be used to pay off the debts of the previous government, the government of Yanukovych. Yatsenyuk has mentioned that in 2014 Ukraine received 9 billion USD in assistance and paid off 14 billion USD of debts.

December 22 – 50% of industrial enterprises have been destroyed in the occupied areas of Donbas, stated the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. Thus 10% of the industry has been destroyed by Russian invaders and Donetsk terrorists.

December 22 – Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk stated that provding gas and electricity to the part of Donbas not under control costs the budget 200 million dollars per month. The German magazine Spiegel asked Yatseniuk if he is ready to “give over” those parts of Eastern Ukraine, considering that the government has stopped paying wages and pensions to people in territories beyond their controll. “This is not true. We still provide gas and electricity. This costs 200 million dollars a month. Those, who are registered, can receive money in other regions. We cannot pay salaries or fill bankmachines since the terrorists rob the transport which carries the money,” answered the premier. Let us remind all that at the end of November, President Petro Poroshenko stated that Ukraine gave the non-controlled part of Donbas, gas and electricity totaling a sum which nearly reached 700 million dollars, not having received even a kopek for it.

December 22 – Parliament Deputy, Mustafa Dzemiliev proposed to apportion a part of Kherson region to create in it the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. This the leader of the Crimean Tatar people stated before the conference focusing on issues of Tatars. The parts of the Kherson region which directly border on Crimea are Kalanchatskyi, Chaplynskyi, and Henichskyi regions of the Kherson province. The Novotroyitskyi region is separated from Crimea by the Syvash Bay.
