August 14: Supreme Council of Ukraine has adopted a law on economic sanctions against Russia

Maidan Community Sector, Lviv: Dear friends!

War, not the expected peace arrived at the doorstep of Great Britain and France when they gave up Czechoslovakia to Hitler in 1938. War is happening right here at home and not in faraway Europe – the United States were harshly reminded about this at Pearl Harbor in 1942. War descended on Ukraine and thus is now much closer to Paris and Berlin, because Europe and the US haven’t supported Georgia in 2008. War showed up in the homes of Dutch, British, French, German, Australian families because Europe and the US weren’t courageous enough to lend a helping hand to Ukraine in 2014. It is impossible to run away from war and overwhelming aggression, it is impossible to buy yourself off. The war will catch up with you if you don’t stand up to it with utmost determination.

August 14 – Valeriy Bolotov – the leader of Luhansk separatists, “commander of army of the south east”, “people’s governor”, “head of the People’s Republic of Luhansk” – had said that he is retiring. The press service for the terrorists has issued a statement saying that “Defense Minister of People’s Republic of Donetsk Igor Strielkov has been fired”. They all must be fleeing to Moscow.

August 14 – 75 trucks with 800 tons of Ukrainian humanitarian aid has left for Luhansk region from Kyiv, Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk, – said NDSC spokesman Andriy Lysenko.

August 14 – Supreme Council of Ukraine has adopted a law on economic sanctions against Russia. Sanctions are related to 172 individuals and 65 legal entities, mostly Russian.

August 14 – Slovakia is preparing for a possible suspension of Russian gas supply through Ukraine, – said Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico.

August 14 – National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine will block the movement of “humanitarian convoy” from Russia if it tries to enter the territory of Ukraine illegally, said NSDC spokesman Andriy Lysenko. The convoy has stopped 20 kilometers from Izvaryne border checkpoint, which is controlled by the Russian terrorists, – stated “The Guardian” correspondent Shaun Walker. The convoy could remain at Izvaryne until 17 August, while waiting for Red Cross representatives.

August 14 – Ukrainian troops have liberated the village of Novosvitlivka near the city of Krasnodon in Luhansk oblast. Thus the troops have blocked the last opportunity for transport to travel between occupied Luhansk and other areas that are controlled by Russian mercenaries, particularly border checkpoint “Izvaryne” (on the border with Russia, where Russia’s convoy is currently located). Ukrainian army finally completely surrounded Luhansk, – said NDSC spokesman Andriy Lysenko.

August 14 – 46 terrorists, the representatives of Chechnya, have surrendered to Ukrainian battalion “Donbas”.
