Berlin is concerned about the developments in eastern Ukraine, particularly, the blockade and calls to stop actions that lead to even greater escalation.
German Federal Government Spokesman Steffen Seibert and German Foreign Ministry Spokesman Martin Schaefer have stated this at on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports from Germany.
“The federal government appeals to all those who are blocking the important railway connection with Donbas: Stop doing this as such actions hamper not only attempts to reach a peaceful solution but provision of Ukraine with electricity as well,” Seibert said.
He stressed that such violent actions led to further split of the country.
In turn, Martin Schaefer said that the German government “is critical of the blockade of movement of goods by Ukrainian activists, which the Ukrainian government has not been energetically trying to stop so far.”
