This is Ukraine today – June 29

Maidan Community Sector, Lviv: Dear friends!

By annexing Crimea, Russia has carried out an act of aggression against Ukraine. Currently Russia is transferring terrorist and sabotage groups to Eastern Ukraine. Russia aims to prevent legitimate presidential elections from happening. Everyday life in Eastern Ukraine has turned into a continuous nightmare in the middle of Europe. Our country is being destroyed right before our eyes. We therefore take the courage to inform you about current events in Ukraine. This is just another point of view. We will do our best to remain objective.

June 29 – Five Ukrainian Army soldiers have died and at least seventeen were injured in the last 24 hours during the so called ceasefire in the East of Ukraine – Russian terrorist are not adhering to ceasefire conditions. As a result, hundreds of people protesting against the ceasefire in Eastern Ukraine gathered together near the building of the Presidential Administration. At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin insisted on extending a previously extended ceasefire between Ukrainian Army and insurgents to 10 pm on June 30th. Of course it is very important for him that Ukrainian servicemen are not responding to heavy fire from the terrorists.

June 29 – A railroad bridge was blown up near the city of Chuguyev in Kharkiv oblast – the terrorists are trying to break further in to Ukraine beyond Donbas.

June 29 – 2 Russian remotely piloted reconnaissance aircraft have again violated the border of Ukraine in Luhansk oblast, informed the representative of the Information Center at the National Security Council Andriy Lysenko. This was the third case of a border violation by the spy planes over the past three days.

June 29 – Groups of insurgents from the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the Caucasus started leaving ATO area in Donbas. There are two theories behind this fact – end of service time, for which they were recruited and fear that Russian Federation will stop supporting them.

June 29 – The insurgents have positioned their artillery at Urytskogo Str. in Sloviansk; from there they are firing at the residential buildings of the city, stated the Head of the Center for Military and Political research Dmytro Tymchuk.

June 29 – Sunday saw the most intensive firing attack on the Karachun Mountain up to date, informed the journalist Roman Bochkala.
