War, not the expected peace arrived at the doorstep of Great Britain and France when they gave up Czechoslovakia to Hitler in 1938. War is happening right here at home and not in faraway Europe – the United States were harshly reminded about this at Pearl Harbor in 1942. War descended on Ukraine and thus is now much closer to Paris and Berlin, because Europe and the US haven’t supported Georgia in 2008. War showed up in the homes of Dutch, British, French, German, Australian families because Europe and the US weren’t courageous enough to lend a helping hand to Ukraine in 2014. It is impossible to run away from war and overwhelming aggression, it is impossible to buy yourself off. The war will catch up with you if you don’t stand up to it with utmost determination.
August 22 – 145 trucks of the so-called Putin’s “humanitarian convoy” have crossed Ukrainian border from Russia, – informs State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. A total of 262 trucks were put together for Ukraine – they started travelling towards Ukraine in a column on Friday, having received no permission for entry from official Kyiv and not accompanied by the International Committee of the Red Cross. Neither Ukrainians, nor the Red Cross has any information about the cargo approaching Ukraine from Russia, – said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine – “We consider this an act of another flagrant violation of the key principles of international law, including inviolability of borders and non-interference in the internal affairs of another state as well as honest fulfillment of international obligations by the Russian Federation”. “We do call this a direct invasion, these are military vehicles cynically disguised as Red Cross cargo”, – stated the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Valentyn Nalyvaichenko.
August 22 – Russia expects that its trucks with so-called “humanitarian aid” will be destroyed, stated the Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk. What would happen if Putin shoot down this convoy using his terrorists on the ground?
August 22 – “We have information that before the start of military actions against Ukraine, they (the Russians – editor) will destroy the “fifth column” in Crimea. For them “fifth column” are Crimean Tatars. We even know that they have compiled lists of people who should disappear or be killed – and first of all these are Majlis members”, – said the leader of Crimean Tatars Mustafa Dzhemilev.
August 22 – ATO forces have destroyed 11 “Grad” multiple rocket launchers, 3 tanks and 5 infantry fighting vehicles as well as killed approximately 100 insurgents near the town of Snizhne. A tough battle is continuing in the city of Ilovaisk.
August 22 – With deep sorrow just learned about Lithuania’s honorary consul in Lugansk Mr Mykola Zelenec kidnapped &brutaly killed by terrorists there – minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevicius.
