Operational report August 14, 2022 by the General Staff of AFU on the Russian invasion of Ukraine

Ukrainian people have been heroically resisting a Russian military invasion for 172 days.

In the directions of Volyn, Polissia, and Siverskyi, nothing remarkable has changed. The Russian Western Military District’s forces continue to rotate towards the Siverskyi direction. The enemy’s barrel artillery continues to bombard Ukrainian border towns from Russia’s territory.

The Russian occupants maintain a high level of illegal aerial reconnaissance using unmanned aerial vehicles while continuing to fire along the contact line in the Kharkiv direction with barrel and rocket artillery.

Russian invaders made an attempt to conduct combat reconnaissance near the Pytomnyk village but failed, incurred casualties, and withdrew. Russian airstrikes were conducted close to Peremoha, Rtyshchivka, and Pytomnyk. The Russian Federation takes action to replenish losses and help its units logistically.

The Russian army fired fire damage from tanks and rocket artillery at Brazhkivka, Bohorodychne, and Dolyna in the direction of Sloviansk. It attempted to get past Ukrainian forces’ protection near Dolyna. Soldiers from Ukraine repelled the attack.

Russian troops opened fire on Ukrainian soldiers with tanks, barrel artillery, and rocket artillery in the Donetsk direction. The Russian drones carried out aerial surveillance in order to identify vital infrastructure facilities and logistical support routes.

Russian invaders fired airstrikes near Spirne in the direction of Kramatorsk. They attempted to conduct a reconnaissance operation through battle in the Serebrianka region, but they were struck by Ukrinian forces’ fire and were able to flee. With assaults, the adversary attempted to strengthen its tactical position close to Spirne.

Russian units launched artillery and tank fire in the direction of Bakhmut at the defensive force positions and communities’ infrastructure built by civilians. They conducted airstrikes in the regions of Soledar and Vesela Dolyna. Russian operational-tactical level UAVs conducted illegal aerial reconnaissance. Russian soldiers attempted to undertake a combat reconnaissance operation near Soledar, but were struck by fire and managed to flee. In the vicinity of Zaitseve, the Russian invaders attempted to attack but was unsuccessful and retreated. Fighting is still going on.

In addition to using artillery to fire a number of towns in the Avdiyivka region, the Russian occupants also conducted airstrikes close to Mariyinka. The Russian army persisted in spying using the UAVs from the air. It launched assaults against Krasnohorivka and Pisky, but they were ineffective, thus it retreated. Fighting is still going on around Pervomaiske.

The Russian attackers continue to shell the contact line with tanks, barrel and rocket artillery, and other weapons in the directions of Novopavlivsk and Zaporizhya. In the area of Prechystivka and Vuhledar, the troops of the Russian Federation employed airplanes. The operational-tactical level Russian UAV carried out aerial reconnaissance. The Russian army attempted to perform military reconnaissance near the village of Prechystivka but had to flee after coming under fire. It is launching an attack near the hamlet of Pavlivka, and fighting is still going on. It has deployed and is now using radio-electronic warfare systems.

Russia is primarily concentrating its efforts in the South Buh direction on retaining the seized locations of Ukraine. Russian occupiers are still doing anti-aircraft reconnaissance. They conducted bombardment throughout the whole line of contact with tanks and barrel and rocket guns.

Russia’s naval force continues to reinforce the land force and blockade the northwest corner of the Black Sea in the sea regions of the Black and Azov Seas.

The possibility of Russian missile attacks on vital infrastructure facilities located on Ukrainian soil is still present.

At Russian invaders’ command centres, equipment stockpiles, and field ammo depots, Ukrainian missile and artillery forces conduct fire operations. The Russian occupiers’ losses are being listed.
