General Staff operational report November 4 , 2022 on the Russian invasion of Ukraine

The 254th day of the Russia-Ukraine War: official operational information by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on 04.11.2022.

The Russian army is trying to keep the temporarily captured territories, concentrates efforts on restraining the actions of the Defense Forces of Ukraine in certain areas. Conducts offensive actions in the Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Novopavlivka directions.

Russia is shelling units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine along the contact line, carrying out border fortification equipment in separate directions and conducting aerial reconnaissance. It continues to strike critical infrastructure and civilian homes in violation of International Humanitarian Law, the laws and customs of war.

During the day, Russian troops launched 3 missile and 5 air strikes, carried out 2 MLRS. The settlements of Lviv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions were affected by these criminal actions. The threat of new strikes and the use of attack UAVs remains, such actions are also possible from the territory of the Republic of Belarus.

The situation in the Volyn and Polissya directions has not changed significantly. The Republic of Belarus continues to support the armed aggression of the Russian t against Ukraine.

Russian military shelled in other directions:

  • in the Siverskyi direction – from mortars, in the Tymonovychi district of the Chernihiv oblast;
  • in the Slobozhanskyi direction – from mortars and barrel artillery, in the areas of the settlements of Ambarne, Bolohivka, Stelmakhivka, Vovchanski Khutory, Hlyboke, Dvorichna, Zelene, Hatyshche and Chuhunivka;
  • in the Kupyansk and Lyman directions – from artillery of various types, in the areas of the settlements of Novoyehorivka, Siversk, Verkhnyokamianske, Vedmezhe and Bilohorivka;
  • in the Bakhmut direction – from mortars, barrel and rocket artillery, in the areas of Bilohorivka, Bakhmut, Andriivka, Klishchiivka, and Ivanhrad;
  • in the Avdiivka direction – from tanks and the entire range of artillery, in the areas of Avdiivka, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka and Paraskoviivka settlements;
  • in the Novopavlivsk direction – from artillery of various calibers, in the areas of Vodyane, Vuhledar, Pavlivka, Vremivka and Velyka Novosilka settlements;
  • in the Zaporizhzhia direction – from mortars, barrel and rocket artillery in the districts of Poltavka, Hulyaipole, Zaliznychne, Hulyaipilske, Dorozhnyanka, Novoandriivka and Olhivske.

Areas of settlements bordering the contact line were damaged by fire in the South Buh direction. The settlements of Tryfonivka, Kherson oblast, and Nikopol were directly affected by the fire of Russian rocket and barrel artillery.

Russian troops continue to die in Ukraine. The information regarding the losses of the Russian army as a result of fire damage to the administrative building in Holya Prystan, Kherson oblast, has been confirmed. According to available information, 18 Russian soldiers were killed and 2 wounded.

Also, on November 2, in the area of ​​the city of Enerhodar, Zaporizhzhia oblast, an anti-aircraft missile complex S-300 and a truck with ammunition were destroyed, and about 20 Russian servicemen were wounded of various degrees of severity.

On November 3, in the city of Melitopol, fire damage was inflicted on Russian control point located in the building of the industrial zone. As a result, about 50 soldiers were wounded and up to 10 pieces of military equipment were destroyed. In addition, about 80 units of military equipment of various types, which the Russian army placed in hangars, were damaged.

According to the available information, in the settlement of Kamianka, Zaporizhzhia oblast, Russian soldiers moved the personnel of their units, closed checkpoints and the commandant’s office.

The low level of morale and psychological state of the personnel of Russian units located in the Zaporizhzhia region is noted. These are the consequences of unsatisfactory conditions of detention, poor equipment, constant delays and incomplete payments of financial support, as well as contemptuous attitude of the military leadership towards subordinates.

During the current day, the aviation of the Defence Forces of Ukraine struck the Russian army four times. Two areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, as well as two positions of Russia’s anti-aircraft defence equipment, were damaged. Ukrainian air defence units shot down two “Shahed-136” UAVs.

Soldiers of missile troops and artillery of the Defence Forces of Ukraine struck Russian control post, five areas of concentration of manpower, weapons and military equipment and a number of other important military objects of Russian troops during the day.
