The 442nd day of the Russia-Ukraine War: official operational information by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on 11.05.2023.
During the past day, Russian troops carried out 6 missile strikes, including on the cities of Sloviansk, Kostiantynivka, and Zaporizhzhia. Additionally, 46 airstrikes and 69 shelling incidents from multiple launch rocket systems were recorded on the positions of Ukrainian soldiers and civilian areas. Unfortunately, there have been casualties and injuries among the civilian population, private residential houses have been damaged, as well as other civilian and administrative infrastructure.
The probability of missile and aerial strikes throughout the territory of Ukraine remains high. The Russsian army continues to concentrate their main efforts in the directions of Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Mariinka. During the day, the Russian army carried out over 30 attacks in these specified areas of the front. The fiercest battles are taking place near the cities of Bakhmut and Marinka.

- On the Volyn and Polissia directions, there are no signs of Russian formations for offensive groups. The Russian Federation continues to use the territory and logistical base of the Republic of Belarus for the training and coordination of Russian Armed Forces units formed through mobilization, for their subsequent involvement in combat operations on the territory of Ukraine.
- On the Siversk and Slobozhansk directions, the Russian army continues to maintain a military presence in the border areas with Ukraine. During the day, it conducted airstrikes in the areas of the populated settlements of Krasnyi Khutir in the Chernihiv region, and Krenidivka, Znob-Novhorodske, and Uralove in the Sumy region. Russian troops also carried out mortar and artillery shelling of populated areas in Novovasylivka, Ukrainske, Iskryskivshchyna, Bilopillia, Yastrubine, Kondrativka, and Basivka in the Sumy region, as well as Huriiv, Hlyboke, Staritsia, Buhruvatka, Ohirtseve, Hatyshche, Vovchansk, Tykhe, Synelnykove, Zybine, Bochkove, Budarky, and Velykyi Burluk in the Kharkiv region.
- On the Kupiansk direction, Russian military did not conduct offensive actions during the day. Russian artillery and mortar fire targeted the populated settlements of Odradne, Dvorichanske, Kamianka, Topoli, Krasne Pershe, Fiholivka, Novomylnske, Dvorichna, and Tabaiivka in the Kharkiv region, as well as Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk region.
- On the Lyman direction, Russian soldiers conducted offensive actions in the area of Serebrianske Forestry but did not succeed. They carried out an aerial strike on the populated settlement of Spirne. Artillery shelling affected Makiivka, Nevske in the Luhansk region, Bilohorivka, Torske, Serebrianka, Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, Berestove, and Vesele in the Donetsk region.
- On the Bakhmut direction, the Russian army continues to advance. Battles are ongoing in the city of Bakhmut. During the day, it conducted unsuccessful offensive actions towards the populated settlement of Stupochky. Russian troops carried out an aerial strike in the areas of Bakhmut, Kurdiumivka, and New York. The villages of Vasiukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Novomarkove, Markove, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Kostiantynivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Pivdenne, Toretsk, Pivnichne, and New York in Donetsk region were affected by Russian shelling.
- On the Avdiivka direction, Russian military conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Avdiivka. It shelled the populated settlements of Novokalynove, Berdychiv, Stepove, Avdiivka, Sevorne, and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region.
- On the Mariinka direction, the Ukrainian army repelled numerous Russian attacks in the area of the city of Mariinka. At the same time, the populated settlements of Hostre, Heorhiivka, Mariinka, and Pobeda in the Donetsk region were subjected to Russian shelling.
- On the Shakhtarsk direction, Russian military conducted offensive actions in the area of Novomykhailivka but did not succeed. Russian soldiers carried out airstrikes near Vuhledar and Prechystivka. They also shelled the populated settlements of Paraskeviivka, Kostiantynivka, Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar, Novoukrainka, and Prechystivka.
- On the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the Russian army continues defensive actions. It conducted airstrikes in the areas of the populated settlements of Mala Tokmachka, Omelnyk, and Kizomys. Moreover, Russian soldiers shelled the populated settlements near the line of contact, including Vremivka, Novopil in the Donetsk region; Olihivske, Huliaypole, Zaliznychne, Huliaypilske, Bilohiria, Mala Tokmachka, and Kamianske in the Zaporizhzhia region; Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk region; Zolota Balka, Vesele, Lvove, Ivanivka, Antonivka, Dniprovskyi, Kizomys in the Kherson region, and the city of Kherson.
During the day, the aviation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out 13 strikes on Russian personnel and military equipment concentration areas. Additionally, Ukrainian military destroyed 7 Russian UAVs of various types. The missile and artillery units hit 8 command posts, 13 areas of Russian troops concentrations, 1 ammunition depot, 1 fuel and lubricant depot, 5 artillery units in firing positions, 1 air defense system, and 2 other important Russian targets.
