Russian troops’ attacks on the civilian infrastructure in Ukraine

Last night, the Russian Federation launched missile strikes on Ukraine, using 10 Kalibr cruise missiles, 7 of which were intercepted by anti-aircraft missile units and the Air Force, while 3 Kalibr missiles hit the city of Lviv. As a result of the Russian terrorist attacks on Lviv, unfortunately, there are 5 civilian casualties and over 35 people have been injured to varying degrees of severity. More than 35 buildings, over 250 apartments, 10 dormitories, a children’s home, two higher educational institutions, and other civilian infrastructure have been damaged and destroyed.

Furthermore, the Russian army conducted 41 airstrikes and carried out 42 shelling attacks with multiple launch rocket systems on Ukrainian positions and civilian areas. Specifically, the Russian army shelled peaceful settlements in the Kherson and Kharkiv regions.

The Russian army has concentrated its main efforts on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka directions, with 20 military clashes occurring in the past 24 hours.

  • The operational situation in the Volyn and Polissia directions remains unchanged. There are no significant signs of Russian offensive group formations. Designated units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are carrying out tasks in the border areas with Ukraine. The movement of units from the Russian Federation, which underwent training at Belarusian training grounds, continues into Russian territory.
  • In the Siversk and Slobozhansk directions, the Russian army maintains a military presence. It conducted an airstrike in the area of Hatyshcha in the Kharkiv region. Over the course of the day, Russian troops carried out mortar and artillery shelling on more than 15 settlements, including areas in Stari Vyrky, Iskriskivshchyna, Katerinivka, Zapsila in the Sumy region, Cherneschyne, Odnorobivka, and Hoptivka in the Kharkiv region.
  • Ukrainian soldiers in the Kupiansk direction are steadfastly holding their defense. The Russian army conducted artillery and mortar shelling on Krasne Pershe, Fiholivka, Novomyrnske, Dvorichna, Zakhidne, and Kyslivka in the Kharkiv region.
  • In the Lyman direction, with air support, Russian troops attempted to dislodge Ukrainian military from their positions in the areas of Bilohorivka and Karmazynivka in the Luhansk region but did not succeed. They carried out airstrikes near Karmazynivka and Nevske in the Luhansk region and Terniv, Ivanivka, and Fedorivka in the Donetsk region. Over 10 settlements, including Nevske and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, as well as Verkhniokamianske, Berestove Rozdolivka in the Donetsk region, were subjected to artillery shelling.
  • In the Bakhmut direction, under intense Russian aviation and artillery fire, Ukrainian troops successfully repelled attacks in the areas of Ivanivka and Bila Hora. The Russian army conducted an airstrike near Ivanivka in the Donetsk region. At the same time, Ukrainian soldiers continue to advance further south and north of the city of Bakhmut, consolidating their achieved positions. Over 15 settlements, including Vasiukivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanivka, Klishchiivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Bila Hora, and Diliivka in the Donetsk region, were affected by Russian artillery shelling.
  • In the Avdiivka direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the advance of Russian forces in the area of Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region. The Russian army conducted airstrikes in the areas of Novokalynove and Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. At the same time, Russian troops carried out artillery shelling on over 10 settlements, including Keramik, Zhelane, Berdychiv, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, and Karlivka in the Donetsk region.
  • In the Marinka direction, under artillery fire, Ukrainian troops repelled all Russian attacks in the area of the city of Marinka. Russian  troops conducted an airstrike in the area of Krasnohorivka in the Donetsk region. They shelled over 10 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Maksymilianivka, Hostre, Marinka, and Pobeda in the Donetsk region.
  • In the Shakhtarsk direction, the Russian army carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. It conducted an airstrike near Vuhledar and shelled over 15 settlements, including Blahodatne, Vuhledar, Zolota Nyva, Shakhtarske, and Velyka Novosilka in the Donetsk region.
  • In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the Russian army is focusing its main efforts on preventing the advancement of Ukrainian troops. It conducted artillery shelling on over 30 settlements, including Malynivka, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Yehorivka, Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region, Zmiivka, Antonivka, Pryozerne in the Kherson region, and the city of Kherson.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their offensive operation in the Melitopol and Berdiansk directions, consolidating their achieved positions, delivering artillery strikes on detected Russian targets, and implementing counter-battery measures.

Russian troops cynically continue to violate the norms of international humanitarian law and use children’s facilities in temporarily occupied settlements as military bases, with the aim of using the civilian population as human shields. For instance, in the village of Novopetrivka in the Berdiansk district of the Zaporizhzhia region, on the premises of the Vesna children’s sanatorium, Russian servicemen have established a military base where over 800 Russian military personnel are stationed, along with Russian military equipment, in close proximity to residential buildings of local residents.

In the village of Chumakivka in the Kherson region, Russian soldiers have converted the Iva recreational base into a military commandant’s office. There, they conduct interrogations and torture Ukrainian citizens who are patriotically inclined.

During the day, the aircraft of the Ukrainian army carried out 6 strikes on the areas of concentration of Russian personnel.

The units of the missile forces and artillery targeted 1 area of Russian personnel concentration, armaments, and military equipment, 1 ammunition depot, 6 artillery systems in firing positions, and 3 Russian radio-electronic warfare stations.
