The 530th day of the Russia-Ukraine War: official operational information by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on 07.08.2023.

Russian troops’ attacks on the civilian infrastructure in Ukraine

During the day, the Russian army carried out 2 missile and 33 aviation strikes, as well as 50 rocket artillery shelling attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. Due to these Russian terrorist attacks, there have been casualties and injuries among the civilian population.

The likelihood of missile and aviation strikes across the entire territory of Ukraine remains high. Approximately 28 military clashes took place during the day.

  • In the Volyn and Polissya directions, the operational situation remains relatively unchanged.
  • In the Siversk and Slobozhansk directions, the Russian army conducted mortar and artillery shelling on more than 25 populated areas, including Mykhalchyna Sloboda and Khrinivka in Chernihiv Oblast, Basivka, Stepok, and Pavlivka in Sumy Oblast, as well as Udy, Okhrimivka, and Neskuchne in Kharkiv Oblast.
  • In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian soldiers are holding their defense steadfastly and successfully repelled Russian attacks in the areas of Synkivka, north of Ivanivka in Kharkiv Oblast, and south of Novoselivske in Luhansk Oblast. The Russian army conducted aviation strikes in the areas of Krugliakivka and Kucherivka in Kharkiv Oblast. Over 10 populated areas, including Dvorichna, Zapadne, Krasne Pershe, Petropavlivka, and Kupiansk Vuzlovyy in Kharkiv Oblast, experienced Russian artillery and mortar shelling.
  • In the Lyman direction, populated areas Kuzmine, Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast, and Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, and Rozdolivka in Donetsk Oblast were subjected to Russian artillery shelling.
  • In the Bakhmut direction, Russian attempted advances in the areas of Andriivka, Kurdiumivka, and Druzhba in Donetsk Oblast were unsuccessful. Over 10 populated areas, including Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Markove, and Chasiv Yar, were affected by Russian artillery shelling.
  • In the Avdiivka direction, under heavy fire from Russian aviation and artillery, Ukrainian military successfully repelled Russian troops’ attacks in the Avdiivka area. Populated areas Nevilske, Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, Siverske, Novokalynove, and Pervomaiske in Donetsk Oblast experienced artillery shelling.
  • In the Marinka direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to hold back Russian troops’ advancements in the Marinka area. The populated areas of Vodiane, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Velyka Novosilka, Blahodatne, Staromaiorske, and Rivnopil in Donetsk Oblast experienced artillery shelling.
  • In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Russian attempts to advance in the area of Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia Oblast were unsuccessful. The Russian army conducted aviation strikes in the areas of Huliaypilske, Mala Tokmachka, and Orikhiv. Over 10 populated areas, including Novodarivka, Levadne, Komyshuvakha, Orikhiv, Pyatykhatky in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, and Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, experienced Russian artillery shelling.
  • In the Kherson direction, Russian military conducted an aviation strike in the area of Odradokamianka in Kherson Oblast. Over 10 populated areas, including Olihivka, Sadove, Kherson, and Kizomys in Kherson Oblast, were affected by Russian artillery shelling.

The Ukrainian troops’ strikes on Russian equipment

At the same time, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue their offensive operation in the Melitopol and Berdiansk directions, consolidating their positions and carrying out counter-battery actions.

During the past day, the aviation of the Ukrainian army conducted 9 strikes on Russian personnel, equipment, and military vehicles’ concentration areas.

Rocket and artillery units targeted 2 command points, 1 personnel and equipment concentration area, 5 artillery positions on firing positions, and one Russian radar station during the day.
