General Staff operational report August 28, 2022 on the Russian invasion of Ukraine

The Ukrainian people have been heroically resisting a Russian military invasion for 186 days.

The Russian Federation’s major objectives are the complete control of Donetsk oblast’s territory, the upkeep of Kherson’s gained land, and seized portions of Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Mykolaiv oblasts of Ukraine.

In Ukraine, there are still continuous aerial and rocket attacks on civilian targets by Russia.

The situation remains unchanged in the directions of Volyn and Polissya.

The Russian Federation is still holding isolated its Western Military District forces in the border districts of the Bryansk and Kursk areas in the Siversky direction of Ukraine. It opened fire on the Ukrainian communities of Hremyach in Chernihiv oblast, as well as Nova Sloboda, Novovasylivka, and Iskrykivshchyna, in an effort to threat the Ukrainian defending force’s soldiers.

Russian soldiers opened fire from tanks, barrel artillery, and jet artillery in the direction of Kharkiv, Praudianka, Protopopivka, Pryshyb, Chepil, Zamulivka, Ruski Tyshky, Bairak, Petrivka, Mospanove, and Velyki Prohody, among other Ukrainian villages. Near the Rubizhne, they hit using their air force and keeps up a high level of UAV illegal intelligence.

The Russian army made an effort to refine the tactics close to Svitlychny but failed and withdrew.

Russian military activity was noted at Dovhenke, Dolyna, Dibrivne, Velyka Komyshuvacha, and Karnukhivka in the direction of Slovyansk, Ukraine.

Russian invaders made an effort to shift off the attack and launch assaults in the Bohorodychne sector, but they were unsuccessful.
They maintained their fire attack at Slovyansk, Verkhnyokamyanske, and Spirne in the direction of Kramatorsk.

Russia opened fire on civilian infrastructure in the vicinity of the Ukrainian communities of Bakhmut, Vesela Dolyna, Soledar, Maiorsk, and Rozdolivka in the direction of Bakhmut. The Kodema and Yakovlivka areas were damaged because of Russia’s aircraft attacks. The Russian invasion troops were repelled by Ukrainian defensive forces from attacking in the area of Vesela Dolyna.

The Russian army opened fire from the tank, barrel, and jet artillery districts in the towns of Nevelske, Opytne, Orlovka, Novooleksandrivka, New York (Donetsk oblast, Ukraine), Krasnohorivka, and Pervomaiske in the direction of Avdiyivka. In the vicinity of Pervomaiske, it made an attack, lost casualties, and left.

Russia kept up the bombardment in the Novopavlivske direction close to the Novomykhaylivka, Velyka Novosilka, Bohoiavlenka, and Vuhledar.

The Russian army shelled regions around the Ukrainian urban areas of Mykolayiv, Lupartevo, Stepova Dolyna, Posad-Pokrovske, Shyroke, Partyzanske, Kyselivka, Velyke Artakove, Andriyivka, Olhyne, Kniazivka, Topolyne, Myrne, Kvitneve, Velykyi Kut, and Lozove. There is a record of a high level of Russian illegal reconnaissance UAV activity.

The situation has not significantly changed in the Black and Azov Seas’ waters.

The Russian invaders’ military installations and manpower concentrations continue to suffer fire damage from Ukrainian missile and artillery forces. Russian occupiers have suffered severe casualties in certain directions in Ukraine.
