“Today, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, namely 81 Airmobile brigade, together with units of the National Guard of Ukraine, the Kulchytsky Battalion, liberated and took control of the settlement of Lyman in the Donetsk region.”

The video shows how Ukrainian soldiers throw down Russian flags from the roof of the administrative building and install the Ukrainian one.

The Ministry of Defense of Russia announced the withdrawal of troops from Lyman. The Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Malyar reported that fighting is still going on in Lyman.

According to British Intelligence, the loss of Lyman is a significant political setback for Russia.

“Russia’s withdrawal from Lyman also represents a significant political setback given that it is located within Donetsk Oblast, a region Russia supposedly aimed to ‘liberate’ and has attempted to illegally annex.”
