Drone attacks caused explosions at military airfield Engels in Russia, videos

Russian Ministry of Defense noted that explosions rang out at the military airfield in Engels, Russia, at night on December 26, 2022. It is known about 3 dead Russian military.

“On Monday, air defense equipment shot down a Ukrainian drone at a low altitude on the approach to the Engels military airfield in the Saratov region. As a result of its debris falling, 3 Russian servicemen who were at the airfield were fatally wounded. The aircraft was not damaged,” the Ministry of Defense of Russia explained.

The Ukrainian side did not confirm or deny involvement in the drone attacks on Russian airfield.

 

It was later reported that a fire broke out.

“The area of the fire after the explosion in Engels was 120 square meters. According to preliminary data, 3 servicemen died. Four more people were hospitalized,” said Russian mass media.

 
In addition, after the explosions in Engels, the governor of the Saratov region of the Russian Federation, Roman Busargin, wrote that “there is absolutely no threat to residents and the civilian infrastructure was not damaged.
