Washington State recognizes Holodomor as genocide of Ukrainians

On Monday, May 22, the Washington State Senate unanimously approved a resolution calling Holodomor an act of genocide of the people of Ukraine, according to Voice of America.

”The Holodomor was a genocide committed by Joseph Stalin and the Soviet regime against the people of Ukrainian,” reads the document, Voice of America reports.

Now the Day of Remembrance of Victims of the Holodomor is officially recognized by the legislatures of several states, including California. However, the Holodomor has not been specified as genocide in the documents.
