Verkhovna Rada to consider appeal on Savchenko, information space protection bill

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is to consider the appeal to the PACE and the world leaders regarding the release of Nadiya Savchenko, as well as the bill on protection of television and radio information space at the plenary session on Tuesday, the parliament’s meeting agenda reads, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
MPs are to consider five bills related to changes in the judicial system and judicial practice, in particular, the bill No. 1585 “On Amendments to the Law on Judicial System and Status of Judges” regarding the establishment of the genuine responsibility for judges and the bill No. 1656 “On Ensuring the Right to Fair Trial”.
In addition, the parliamentarians are offered to adopt resolutions on the appeal of the Verkhovna Rada to German chancellor Angela Merkel, French president Francois Hollande, Russian president Vladimir Putin, as well as to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe regarding the release of Nadiya Savchenko, currently being illegally imprisoned in the Russian Federation. The agenda also includes the bill No. 1317 “On the Amendments to Some Legislative Acts of Ukraine on the Protection of Television and Radio Information Space of Ukraine”, the bill No. 1357 “On Amendments to Some Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Public Television and Radio Broadcasting”.In general, more than 20 draft laws and regulations are submitted for consideration to Ukrainian MPs.
