The spokesman of the US State Department, Ned Price, noted if Belarus took additional steps on the issue of the war in Ukraine, new sanctions may be imposed against Minsk.

“Whether Belarus provides additional support to Putin’s war in Ukraine, that’s something we’re going to pay very close attention to. And if we see it, if we see the potential for it, we will respond appropriately to impose additional measures to hold the Lukashenka regime accountable for what is essentially its complicity in President Putin’s war against Ukraine,” explained the US State Department spokesman Ned Price.

According to the spokesperson of the US State Department, the US will also remain in contact with Ukraine regarding the role of Belarus in the Russian war of aggression.

In addition, Ned Price commented on the words of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin that Russia will not “absorb any state”.

“I think a statement like that has to be treated as the height of irony coming from a leader who is seeking at the present moment, right now, to violently absorb his other peaceful next door neighbor,” added the US State Department spokesman.
