US President and Prime Minister of Canada discussed further support for Ukraine

US President Joe Biden and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau confirmed their commitment to support Ukraine. The White House noted this based on the results of the meeting between the heads of the two states in Mexico on January 10, 2023.

“They [Joe Biden and Justin Trudeau – ed.] reaffirmed their commitment to stand up for our shared values around the world, including supporting the people of Ukraine as they defend themselves against Russia’s brutal aggression,” said the White House.

It is noted that the parties also discussed further cooperation in the field of security and defense to effectively respond to the challenges of the 21st century, promote collective security, and support the rules-based international system.

“President Biden thanked Prime Minister Trudeau for Canada’s partnership in providing security, economic, and humanitarian assistance for Ukraine,” added the White House.

US President Joe Biden is on an official visit to Mexico, where he is participating in the North American Leaders’ Summit.
