Ukrainian officer tells about balance of power at Donetsk airport

At the Donetsk airport, there is enough ammunition for soldiers, more tanks and people are needed.

Lieutenant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who has long defended the Donetsk airport, Dmytro Soroka said, news channel “112” reports.

“Ammunition is enough, military equipment arrives … I called the ATO headquarters receptionist, said that if to add several tanks and several hundred people, it will be a deterrent. Militants realize that when at the airport or nearby there are from seven to 10 tanks, then it is not worth coming with two or three tanks,” he said.

According to Soroka, it was managed to start the mechanism of deterrence.

“There are paratroopers, special purpose troops there. Sometimes, there is communication with Donetsk residents by a phone, sometimes they call and say that from the ShcherbakovPark over a hundred of injured and wounded militants from the “DPR” were brought. And we understand that a coefficient is no less than 1/5 or 1/7. Militants lose from five to six of their fighters for one killed on our side. We heard that the Russians lead those, who stormed the airport, but the guys from Donbas also join,” he said.
