The Spokesman of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhiy Cherevatyy noted on April 16, 2023, that during the day, more than 30 combat clashes took place in the Bakhmut direction, during which the Ukrainian army killed 121 Russian servicemen and injured other 129.

“During this day in the direction of Bakhmut, the Russian army persistently continued to attack Ukrainian positions: 265 shellings from barrel and rocket artillery. There were 31 combat clashes, 30 in the area of Bakhmut itself. At the same time, the city was shelled 97 times,” informed the Spokesman of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
At the same time, Serhiy Cherevatyy emphasized that Ukrainian troops eliminated 121 Russian soldiers and injured 129.
According to the Spokesman of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russians continue to throw former prisoners to the front, who have become the main battering ram, while other units of the Russian Federation act more cautiously.
The Spokesman also emphasized that the Russian army suffers heavy losses, incomparable to its losses in past wars.
