“Today we are welcoming Ukrainian soldiers in Belgium as part of the EUMAM mission. They will undergo training on the underwater systems delivered by Belgium to Ukraine. I’ve expressed them my profound support and saluted the courage shown for almost a year now,” tweeted the Minister of Defense of Belgium Ludivine Dedonder.
Ludivine Dedonder announced the transfer of underwater drones to Kyiv on November 26, 2022. At that time, she noted that 10 underwater drones manufactured by the Belgian company ECA Robotics Belgium should be delivered to Ukraine by the end of May 2023.
According to the Defense Minister, these drones can detect underwater threats, such as mines or espionage devices.
“This is a completely new advanced technology that will help Ukrainian military a lot,” the Minister of Defense of Belgium said.
