The Head of the Press Center of the Operational Command “South” Natalia Gumeniuk reported on September 30, 2022, that Russian pseudo-referendums organized in part of the territories of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions did not stop the counteroffensive of Ukrainian troops to the east.

The units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been advancing significantly in recent days, in particular in the direction of Kherson.
“Russian authorities are confused. They don’t quite understand what the held referendum gives them. They simply followed the instructions from above [from Moscow – ed.], but they see that this does not stop the Ukrainian army, which is significantly advancing in the direction of Kherson.”
According to Natalia Gumeniuk, Russian troops currently cannot bring enough reserves to the Kherson direction, as the Armed Forces of Ukraine control all logistical routes.
“Activity of Russian military in this direction is impossible because the logistics are damaged, control points are constantly exploding, which sows confusion in Russian troops. Attempts to repair the Antonivskyi and Kakhovskyi bridges in order to cross from the left bank of the Dnieper river to the right, as the bridges are under fire control of the Armed Forces, are futile.”
